Schmidt Real Estate is an independent real estate broker in southeast Idaho. They were trying to differentiate themselves in a market that is becoming increasingly commoditized. Cait Schmidt wanted to bring a personal care and concern back to what is usually the largest financial transaction that most people will ever make. Work included brand strategy, positioning and market research, visual identity development, and web application development.

The website in particular is an example of what is possible with modern WordPress. It uses live MLS data sources and the WordPress Interactivity API to create a fast, reactive listing search while keeping everything WordPress-native and lean. Every aspect of the website can be modified and updated safely by designers and content editors through the WordPress block editor. All while relying on one small custom plugin. It’s proof that WordPress can be usable and agile without turning into a bloated mess of plugins.
