Civitella RanieriNo. 002
For the Civitella Ranieri artist residency in Italy, we got to play around with bringing a historic castle’s charm into a new artistic identity. My boss had a connection there, and we wanted to make sure the new logo and signage felt like a natural extension of the place.
We ended up redrawing a historic type specimen to create a custom wordmark and then installed it as white plaster lettering on a white plaster wall — so it’s subtle, textured, and blends right in. We also painted directional signage throughout the space to keep that blend of old-world and creative energy going. It was a fun way to nod to the castle’s history while making it feel like a hub for collaboration.
